배우 하지원이 일본 안방극장을 뜨겁게 달구고 있다.
황진이 주연의 KBS 2TV 수목극 ‘황진이’가 일본 NHK 공중파를 통해 방송되면서 시청률을 꾸준히 상승시키며 일본 전역에서 폭발적인 반응을 얻고 있다.
‘황진이’는 지난해 4월 일본 대표방송인 NHK의 위성채널 bs2를 통해 매주 일요일 오후 9시에 방송됐다. 당시 동 시간대 채널 중 시청률 1위에 오르면서 일본 팬들의 요청으로 NHK도 지난해 10월부터 매주 토요일 밤 11시10분에 공중파 방송으로 내보내고 있다.
하지원의 소속사인 웰메이드 스타엠의 한 관계자는 “현대극에 비해 일본인들에게 다소 어렵고 생소할 수 있는 사극이지만 일본의 많은 여성 팬들이 하지원의 춤 실력과 화려한 색감의 한복 등 한국의 미에 관심을 보이며 회가 거듭될수록 시청률이 꾸준히 상승하고 있다”고 전했다.

′Hwang Jinyi’ was aired through the cable channel bs2 of NHK since April at 9 p.m. every Sunday. After recording first place in terms of viewership among the programs aired at the same time, it was aired on NHK at the request of Japanese viewers since October every Saturdays at 11:10 p.m.
Well Made, the company Ha Jiwon belongs to says, “It is a historical drama, so it can be difficult for Japanese to understand, but many Japanese women are showing interest in Ha Jiwon’s dancing skills and her traditional Hanbok. Therefore the viewership of the drama is on a steady rise.”
