오는 5월 국내 무대에 첫 선을 보일 예정인 연극 ‘해변의 카프카’는 브로드웨이의 실력파 감독 프랭크 갈라티에 의해 연극으로 재탄생되어 2008년 시카고 스테판울프(Steppenwolf) 극장에서 초연됐다. 이후 2012년 일본으로 무대를 옮겨 칸느영화제에서 남우주연상을 수상한 연기파 배우 야기라 유야를 주연으로 공연, 좋은 평을 받은 바 있다.
꿈과 현실을 교차하며 펼쳐지는 환상적인 이야기는 무라카미 하루키 특유의 감성과 유머, 매력적인 캐릭터들과 어우러져 인간의 근원적인 고독과 삶의 진정한 의미를 탐색하도록 이끈다.
국내 최초로 선보이는 2013 최고의 기대작, 연극 ‘해변의 카프카’는 오는 5월4일부터 6월16일까지 동숭아트센터 동숭홀에서 만나 볼 수 있다.

The play of the same name ’Kafka on the shore’, which is the greatest masterpiece of Murakami Haruki started to sell tickets on May 27. Murakami Haruki is a famous writer in the world listed for the Nobel Prize for literature every year.
The play ’Kafka on the shore’ is planning to open for the first time in Korea on May. It was remade as a play by famous Broadway director Frank Galati and first performed at the Steppenwolf Theater in Chicago in 2008. After that, it was performed in Japan in 2012. A character actor Yagira Yuya who won Best actor for Cannes Film Festival performed as the main character and received favorable evaluation.
The fantastic story crossing dream and reality and mixing unique feeling and humor of Murakami Haruki and attractive characters leads us to think human’s basic loneliness and true meaning of life.
’Kafka on the shore’ is the most expected play in 2013, which will be open in Korea for the first time. You can meet this play at Dong sung Hall of Dong Sung Art Center from May 4 to June 16.
